Troubleshooting

Work through the checks below, one step at a time. Keep your eSIM installed while you troubleshoot or contact support.

First, keep your eSIM installed

Some QR codes allow only one installation. Deleting the profile may prevent you from adding it again. Leave it installed unless support specifically asks you to remove it.

1. Check your plan and destination

  • Confirm that your order has been delivered and the eSIM appears in My eSIMs.
  • Check that your current destination is included in the plan.
  • Review the activation policy and validity period.
  • Check any available usage information to see whether your allowance has been used.
  • For daily plans, check the stated reset time and time zone. For fair-use plans, review when reduced speeds apply.

2. Check your mobile data settings

  1. Enable the travel eSIM line.
  2. Select it for Mobile Data or Cellular Data.
  3. Set Data Roaming according to your plan’s instructions.
  4. Review automatic data switching so the phone does not use your home line unexpectedly.
  5. Briefly turn airplane mode on and off, then allow the phone time to reconnect.
  6. If the issue continues, restart your phone and test again.

Switch Wi-Fi off briefly when testing so you can confirm whether mobile data is working.

3. If you see “No Service” or “Searching”

Leave network selection on Automatic for several minutes. Confirm that you are in an area with mobile coverage.

If your plan instructions allow manual selection, open the network settings for your travel line and try a supported operator listed in your plan details. Allow a few minutes for registration before trying another listed network.

Return to automatic selection after testing unless your plan instructions or support team advise otherwise.

4. If you have signal but no internet

Recheck that the travel eSIM is selected for mobile data, then review the APN settings supplied with your plan.

If manual APN entry is required, enter the value exactly as provided. Change only the fields specified in your instructions. Avoid guessing an APN or copying settings from a different plan.

Save and select the APN where your phone offers those options. If the settings are unavailable or you are unsure what to enter, contact support.

5. If installation or QR scanning fails

  • Code already used: Check your phone’s SIM list. The eSIM may already be installed under a network or carrier name.
  • Cannot add eSIM: Confirm reliable Wi-Fi, device compatibility, and carrier-unlocked status. Restart your phone and review the exact error message.
  • Invalid activation code: Check that you are using the correct order’s details. If the profile is not already installed and manual installation is available, copy the supplied details without extra spaces.

If the error continues, contact support before deleting profiles or repeatedly attempting installation.

6. If data is slow or hotspot is unavailable

Speeds can vary with signal strength, network congestion, device capabilities, and your plan’s conditions. Check whether a high-speed allowance or fair-use limit applies.

A label such as FUP – Continues at 1 Mbps describes a reduced-speed condition. Check your usage and plan terms to establish whether that condition currently applies and when the allowance resets.

For hotspot problems, confirm that your plan supports tethering and follow the hotspot settings for your device and eSIM.

7. Review your home SIM settings

Turn off data roaming for your home SIM and review automatic data switching. If your phone does not offer separate roaming controls for each line, consider disabling the home line while using travel data.

Your home carrier may still charge for calls, voicemail, or SMS if that line remains active.
